Depression and Stress Disorder Research Group

Areas of Research:

  1. Human volunteer studies to try and further understand the mechanisms of action of drugs involved in the treatment of psychiatric disorders.
  2. Human imaging studies involving patients and volunteers to try and understand the changes in brain chemistry associated with the etiology and pharmacotherapy of psychiatric disorders.
  3. Influence of female characteristics such as hormonal status on the development and subsequent treatment of panic disorder and premenstral dysphoric disorder.
  4. Alterations in stress hormone systems in depression, posttraumatic stress disorder and other anxiety disorders.
