The Brain Neurobiology Research Program, Department of Psychiatry was formally established in 2000. The objective of the program is to conduct state-of-the-art research in order to further advance understanding in the area of mood and anxiety disorders. The research has a dual focus; a) the role of female hormones and neuroactive steroids and b) the mechanisms of the association between depression and anxiety disorders and increased cardiovascular risk.
