Residents select a supervisor on an annual basis for psychotherapy training. Residents begin psychodynamic psychotherapy training in PGY-2 and continue for a minimum of two years. In PGY-4 residents begin one year of training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Senior residents do have the opportunity to continue supervised psychotherapy training beyond these requirements. Training is available and encouraged in other therapies including Interpersonal Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, group therapy in multiple modalities, family therapy, and therapy with children and adolescents.
